Three persons have been arrested by police from the polling boot in Adewale street, unit 17 Alekuwodo, Osun State.
The affected persons, a woman and two middle aged men were allegedly in possession of voter cards belonging to other pilling units.
Agents of some political parties had raised alarm over the presence of the persons, whom they accused were not registered voters in the unit.
However, security operatives intervened to bring the matter under control by taking the individuals away
However, there is a high turnout as residents of Osun state turn out in great numbers headed to their polling units to vote in the governorship rerun election.
It was discovered at Ward 5, Unit 17 , Adewale Street, Osogbo, that there was high turnout of voters at the polling unit.
The affected area was cordoned off by security agents with massive deployment of policemen as well as other security personnel while soldiers were also sighted.
It would be recalled that the September 22 governorship election in Osun State where the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ademola Adeleke scored a total votes of 254,698 as against APC candidate, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola with total votes of 254,345 was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) due to the cancelled votes in four local governments of Orolu, Ife North, Ife South and Osogbo.
Meanwhile, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun state, Mr Olusegun Agbaje has expressed satisfaction at the conduct of the rerun election.
“From what I’ve seen so far, the process is very calm. The arrangement is quite in order. By the grace of God everything will end well”.
Agbaje also commended residents of Adewale street for trooping out to exercise their franchise and assured them that their votes would count.
