Immigration apprehends Cameroonian with multiple Nigerian passports, others in Cross River

Personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested a Cameroonian, Kouaha Dieudonne, male, 42 years of with multiple international passports, including that of Nigeria.
The Cameroonian NIS said was intercepted at the Yala Border Patrol base in Cross River State by its Border Patrol Officers.
A statement by Mr. Sunday James, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), NIS said that the suspect was arrested when its personnel were carrying out routine check to forestall irregular migration across the border in view of the closure of borders by the Federal Government to curb further spread of Covid-19.
The statement quoted Okey Ezugwu, Comptroller, Cross River Command of telling Mr. Muhammad Babandede, the Comptroller-General, NIS that the Dieudonne was found in possession of multiple passports of different countries, which were not his own.
According to him, two of the international passports were of Cameroon and Guinea-Bissau, bearing his name and five Nigerian passports belonging to other persons.
The statement hinted that Babandede has ordered for thorough investigation and report on the arrest, while commending the Comptroller of the Cross River Command and the officers at Yala Border Patrol for a job well-done and display of professionalism.
He specifically lauded them for shunning inducement to effect the arrest.
James stated that the arrested suspect would be prosecuted after necessary charges are established for his prosecution in line with Immigration law.
