A transport manager for Jumia Service Limited, Lawal Ganiyu was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate , Mrs M.I Dan-Oni of an Ogba Magistrates’ Court over alleged theft of N1,170,915 million belonging to Jumia Service Limited.
The accused person who resides at No. 1 Surulere street, Ogba, Lagos was docked by the police on two counts charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Police prosecutor, Victor Eruada informed the court that Ganiyu committed the offence between October 16 and 17, 2018.
Eruada said the accused who works for Jumia as a transport manager conspired with others to steal some items from his employer.
He however said the following items were stolen by the accused from Jumia, his employer: PS4 game valued at N118,990, two 32inches televisions valued at N62,500 each, one 43 inches television valued at N109,125, 24 inches television television valued at N33,537, microwave valued at N16,666.
Other items stolen by the accused are: kettle valued at N2,285, two laptop bags valued at N3,590 , cutlery N2059 , cylinder cable valued at N1037, all sumed together at N1,170, 915.
He further said that he has committed an offence punishable under the Law of Lagos State.
Ganiyu denied the charges preferred against him by the police.
The presiding Magistrate , Mrs Dan-Oni granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two suretiest.
She thereafter adjourned the matter till December 10 , for further hearing.
