Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Noah Olaore with one Hundred and fourteen bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi indicated that the suspect was arrested some days ago in front of M.K.O Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to him, men of the Federal Anti Robbery Squad received an information that some hoodlums who specialized in importing hard drug from Benin Republic into Ogun State were on their way coming.
Upon the information, according to the statement, a team of FSARS operatives led by Adeyemi Akeem were detailed to go after the hoodlums which led to their arrest.
He said further investigation led the Police to Igbo-Ora in Oyo State where more bags of the weeds were recovered which made the total bags of Indian hemp recovered to be One hundred and fourteen.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered a full scale investigation into the case with the view of arresting other members of the syndicate.
