The Lagos State Police command has arrested one Johnson Oyahere, who claimed to be mentally unstable with a prototype pistol.
The arrest was made possible by an alert from the security agents in patrol.
The 35-year old suspect was arrested on 4th March, 2018 under Eko Bridge following the vigilance of security agents on the bridge.
It was gathered that Oyahere attempted to escape after sighting policemen and he was apprehended, only to be found in his possession a plastic toy pistol, which according to the CP was a prototype of a Beretta pistol.
Advising members of the public, Edgal warned that not all persons who appear mad are really mad.
He stressed, “They just use to fake to members of the public.”
Reiterating his community/police partnership strategy to combat crime and criminals, the security helmsman in the state, assured that fighting drug dealers and cultists are top most on his mind.
“We will take the fight against crime to their door step.”
“Parents are advised to warn their children, wards and relatives, any cultists caught harming any member of the public will be met with force.”
