Osun Police Nabs Seven Cult Members 

Seven suspected members of cult group have been arrested by men of the Osun State Command of Nigeria Police.
The State Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye disclosed this to newsmen in a statement issued by the State Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO), Folasade Odoro.
The cult group caused panic in Ile – Ife during a clash between two cult groups during which one person was said to have lost his life and several others injured.
Adeoye who confirmed the incident said normalcy has returned to the ancient town since the suspects had been arrested.
The CP said that one of the suspects, Sodiq Olafare who attempted to escape was shot and recaptured sustaining bullets wound.
“Upon information received by ‘A’ Division Ile-Ife that cult members were on rampaged in Ife town, patrol teams and vigilante men were immediately drafted to the scene.
 “Seven suspects were arrested. However, one of them, Sodiq Olafare in a bid to escape jumped out of one of the patrol vehicle and he was re arrest with bullet wound on his left leg”.
The police said all the arrested suspects are under interrogation while Olafare has been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
It was learnt that some policemen reportedly raided a shop located at Ojoyin area, where some boys believed to be cultists were smoking Indian hemp.
According to a source in Ojoyin, shots were exchanged between the two groups, as the suspected cultists resisted attempt to dislodge them by the police.
 The clash later spread to Lagere, Akarabata and Iremo areas of Ife.
